Hailing from sunshine of the Marlborough region I was born and raised on a sheep and beef farm. I boarded at Nelson College for 5 years before heading overseas for a GAP year, which I spent working as a teacher aid in a private prep school in England, traveling through Britain and Europe during the holiday breaks. I returned to New Zealand in 2002 and headed off to Massey University to study vet science. After an initial hiccup with the selection process and a year of Agricultural Applied Science papers I gained entry into the professional part of the 5-year course. I was impressed with the family atmosphere, staff experience as well as the mix of work at Clutha vets while doing practical work during university holidays and so on graduating in 2007 I took up the job offer here. I am looking to gain experience across the species, although I do have more of a large animal focus. My interests outside of work include playing sports in particular rugby as well as social touch and soccer. I will be playing for the Clinton rugby team this year in keeping with practice tradition. I also enjoy cricket tennis, hunting and fishing and am a member of a local church.
